About Ranthambore National Park Ranthambhore

is home to one of India’s largest national parks, with a total area of 392 km2. It is about 160 kilometers southeast of Jaipur, which is also the closest airport, in the Sawai Madhopur district in southeast Rajasthan. Sawai Madhopur, a town and railway station about 11 kilometers away, is the closest place.

In 1955, the Indian government established Ranthambhore as the Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary. In 1973, it was named one of the best tiger reserves. In 1980, Ranthambore became a national park. Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary and Keladevi Sanctuary were established in the nearby forests in 1984, and in 1991, the tiger reserve was expanded to include both of these sanctuaries.

The Ranthambore wildlife sanctuary is famous for its tigers. Even during the day, it is not difficult to spot tigers. November and May are the best months to see tigers at Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary, where the park’s deciduous forests are typical of the Central Indian jungle. Leopard, nilgai, wild boar, sambar, hyena, sloth bear, and chital are among the other major wild animals.
